Early Present

So, yesterday I got my anniversary/birthday present early. For those not in the know, that means this:

She's an 8-week old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and considering her age, a remarkably well-behaved one. She endured a three hour car ride with no fussing and little restraint (she mostly slept in the passenger seat), and survived her first night without making a mess in her kennel. We're working on getting her a name, and I'd love some suggestions/agreements.

Names floated so far:
Evelyn/Eve/Evie
Penelope/Penny
Lilah
MacKenzie/Kenzie
Moira
Branwynn
Carys
Morgan
Winifred

Anyone like any of these? Have a better suggestion? Puppy needs a name, people!

**UPDATE**

Thanks for all the comments, suggestions and congrats... and we have a winner!

The puppy's name is... MacKenzie! Or just Kenzie for short.

If anyone wants to meet her, feel free to drop by. She's a well-behaved little darling. Just call ahead so we's know you're a-comin'.

Corgi?!!?! Squeeeeee!

Winifred. Totally. Then you can call her Fred. Or Winnie.
That and MacKenzie are both high in the running right now. And of course we'd call her Fred. 'Cuz that would just confuse people at the dog park. ;)

Oh fer cute!

I vote Branwynn. Of course Mac is nice and short for her to respond too.

When do we get to come play?

Re: Oh fer cute!

Well, no later than Thursday, certainly, but if you want to come over sooner and meet the pup I think Lauren and I would be fine with that. :D
On an unrelated note, I'm done with your Death Note dvd. Remind me to bring it to the next Detour event.
Hey, can you remember to bring Death Note to the next AD meeting?

Seriously, did you enjoy it?
The disc was very good. I'm going to try and start renting the rest of it soon.

MacKenzie is very cute btw.

I was just looking at the website. Are we actually having a meeting at the hotel this Sunday, or just the picnic on the 15th?
Actually, we're having both. Meeting on Sunday, picnic on the 15th.

Korgi

Is Destroyer of Worlds too long? What about Black Flag?

Anyway, it's Korgi by Christian Slade and images can be found here:

Re: Korgi

Have you tried to fit 'Destroyer of Worlds' onto one of those little dog tags? It ain't easy.

Re: Korgi

You could always just go with Shiva or Set.

Re: Korgi

But really, if you're going with a name like that, you want it to mean something to people you want to leave, not the ones you want to hang around.

Re: Korgi

This is true, although your friends would still find it amusing.
Beauregard. ;)
I'm not sure I want a dog with that cat's attitude...
Cat? What cat?
Beauregard is a traditional Southern coonhound name, and Corgis are definitely at least as bright as coonhounds even before they get the data implants (cf. Ein).
Ah. I thought you were referencing me telling you about my parent's cats, specifically Beauregard, who used to beat the crap out of not only the neighborhood cats but the neighborhood dogs, too.
Your parents had/have cats? Seriously, I didn't know.
Absolutely adorable!

I was leaning toward Moira (oops, my fandom is showing, let me tuck that back in), but the more I think about it, she looks like a Winifred to me.

Of course, you could always call her Zwei =)

P.S. Call the Reverend so we can go do something kthanxbai.
Done and done.

We joked about continuing the Germanic number sequence, but fortunatly rationality ruled. ;)
What? Rationality in fandom? What are these strange things of which you speak?
:p

I had a high school crush on a girl named Bronwyn, so I'm partial to that. But of course, a female Celt, you have to name it Boudica.
I dunno. Boudica was a queen, and Corgis, by way of legend, are fairy steeds. Then again, as they are herders, I suppose they do lead cattle and sheep...
I think I just died of cute over here.

I MUST SEE THIS PUPPY. At some point, at least. Not sure when/if my schedule will permit, but I'll give you the heads up if I feel the need to accost your new pet with love.
Sure thing. She's a little sweetheart - a little nippy when she gets excited during play (and those teeth are sharp!), but full of affection too.
KAWAII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I'm done now. I want a doggie (but only if I can train him to use the toilet (and no I'm not getting a little yippie dog that I know you can train to use a litter box))
And she's good in a car, so when we (finally) get together, she can come on the ride too and say hi herself.
Cute puppy. Hope she's enjoying the house! I have a question - when she is bad do you put her in the jail cell? or was that just me?
The cell was only ever for you...
